Tiburon

Enter 101 North.  You’ll cross the Richardson Bay. On the right, note Silva Island, featuring some luxurious condominiums. Continue to Tiburon Boulevard, where you’ll exit and turn right.  The first housing area to your right is called Strawberry, mostly ranch style homes, many recently remodeled or enlarged.  This is part of the Mill Valley School District.  Continuing on, you’ll pass the beloved Blackies Pasture  and the much traveled multi-use path along the waterfront. Most housing is along the left side of the road heading into town. To see the creme of the newest crop of executive homes (most in the $5+ million range) head up Gilmartin Drive and circle back down.

Stop for a burger or salad on the deck at Sam’s at lunchtime, or if it’s not sunny and warm, try the upscale Mexican restaurant on the corner, Guymas.

Nearby is the Tiburon Ferry Terminal, launch pad for one of the world’s nicest commutes.   At this point, you head up Mar West (to the north) to see some sample classic Tiburon hillside havens, or head back to 101.  If you have an extra 40 minutes to kill, go the back way, along Paradise Drive through east Corte Madera.  This is one of the prettiest biking roads anywhere.
