Belvedere

To visit exclusive Belvedere, turn right on San Rafael Avenue and stay right onto Belvedere Avenue. You can circle all the way around the peninsula, or head up (with a map) onto Golden Gate Avenue. Circle back down and go left on Beach Road, right on Main street to Tiburon Boulevard. Stop for a burger or salad on the deck at Sam’s at lunchtime, or if it’s not sunny and warm, try the upscale Mexican restaurant on the corner, Guymas.

Nearby is the Tiburon Ferry Terminal, launch pad for one of the world’s nicest commutes.   At this point, you head up Mar West (to the north) to see some sample classic Tiburon hillside havens, or head back to 101.  If you have an extra 40 minutes to kill, go the back way, along Paradise Drive through east Corte Madera.  This is one of the prettiest biking roads anywhere.
